This is that only that I don't like about ATT. Creating a new account is a pain in the butt. hahaha. |

| Actually, the last account I set up would have been done in under 10 minutes if I didn't have to try and keep the users old AT&T Worldnet Dial service '@att.net' email domain. That part isn't so straightforward, and I still have to go back an beat on billing because they are still charging her for the Worldnet account. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

| reply to coxuserlv I'm referring to new registration where in you need to create an account for the first time. The sub accounts are easy to create. I don't know why ATT doesn't simplify these things. If other ISP doesn't have this pain in the butt process why can't do the same thing also. |

| As am I. The lass in question had an old "AT&T Worldnet Service" dial account, which is not the same as a new "at&t Yahoo! HSI" account. The trick, for her, which I had not encountered before, was to set up the new account as I had done for an aunt, and a cousin, each of which went smoothly. Then call AT&T Worldnet Service billing to request a "Zero Bill" program, or something like that. She got a new email address with the account setup. Then, after the "Zero Bill" program, she supposedly gets to continue to use her Worldnet "@att.net" email address on her new "sbcglobal.net" DSL account. At no extra cost.

| My ex-girlfriend, whom I set up the account for, was an AT&T Worldnet Service dial customer back when AT&T DSL was a CLEC service, and SBC was an ILEC DSL provider. I've always been and SBC customer, and set up two accounts before 2006 (one Pacific Bell DSL, another SBC Yahoo! DSL Service), and one after 2006 (at&t Yahoo! HSI).
Considering that SBC bought AT&T, then changed their name from SBC to AT&T, I believe, from my experience with two at&t Yahoo! HSI setups, that SBC enforced their signup procedures on AT&T. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
