Re: [TDPH] Self-Nominations - Volunteers Needed! said by ColdinCbus:Do I have to nominate myself again? Peter I think you are in it for life, want it or not
On a side note, what would it take for us to get government grants/ funds to fund TDPH? It's a non for profit organization and we are doing all of this for a noble cause. There must be avenues out there that we can tap into to receive some funds. Question is for Peter (Since he is sort of our legal guy) but please anyone feel free to jump in with any ideas that you might have about this.
Sorry for going a little off topic, from the nominations. Just want to get things moving a little and get peoples interests up. Please nominate yourself, there are plenty of positions open and we can sure use a good election. -- "The crises of today is the joke of tomorrow" H.G. Wells 1866-1946, Author |

 | reply to Slava We have to File with a state to incorporate and then apply to the IRS and state for nonprofit status. I think our sticking point on this when we set everything up was costs of the filing fees. It cost very little to become a social club. -- Team Discovery Project Hope |

SlavaPremium,MVM join:2001-02-04 Fair Lawn, NJ | Good deal Peter,
probably not worth the fees for us then. But we can look into it some more. Maybe we can find a loop hole. Maybe we can file to receive some of that stimulus package all those other companies have been getting. |

SlavaPremium,MVM join:2001-02-04 Fair Lawn, NJ 1 edit | reply to ColdinCbus Peter I been giving this matter a little thought. I printed out what is an (EIN) Employment Identification Number. Then I started to read the fine print and what advantages one can have with having an EIN. There was an interesting line that made me remember of a movie. The line states "However, no matter how you apply (phone, fax, mail, or online), it will take up to two weeks before your EIN becomes part of the IRS' permanent records. You must wait until this occurs before you can file an electronic return, make an electronic payment, or pass an IRS Taxpayer Identification Number matching program."
Do you remember the movie (The Shawshank Redemption)? If that man, Tim Robins (Andrew "Andy" Dufresne) could make all that stuff happen from jail. I have the utmost confidence that we should be able to find some entity out there that should fund us (TDPH) and pay for new blades, maybe even new racks as well all our operating cost and electrical expenses for our hosts..
So what do you think? In the words of a great man. "We can do it". |
