I think buffalo makes outstanding products. They just aren't that popular here. You may want to take that question here...

[General] I'm a bit confused about my new Linkstation LS-1000GL

Hi,

I am new to the forum, and have a question about the Linkstation LS-1000GL. It seems to be a terabyte network storage device. Which is great, it's what I ordered.

When ordered, I was told it didn't have a web interface and would be configured from a Windows application.

Today I wired my Linkstation up, and installed software from the CD. It doesn't seem to do much for remote administration. I looked at my router device list, and saw the device.

I directed my browser to it, and it turns out there is a webserver on it which seems to work just fine. I was able to do some configuration with it, and all seems to be well. At the moment I'm backing up a 40GB folder to it over my LAN.

Is the Buffalo NAS Navigator supposed to be a very lame application? Is the Linkstation LS-1000GL supposed to have a web interface? Is firmware 1.13 a current firmware for this device?

Thanks!
