1st. Yes but you need to activate the ethernet port on the ONT if you dont have tv you dont need the router they give you if you have tv you will need it still so the STB can retrieve the VOD and widgets.
And last yes its a modem/wireless router they give a westell or actiontec depending on where you live. |

| How many IP addresses does your ISP provide?
If you use a Switch rather then NAT router ISP has to issue an IP for each device. Most residential accounts are limited to a single IP requiring a NAT router if you want to connect more then one device.
