there is a lot to see around here. the problem is during the summer months, you really don't want to be out seeing it. the perfect time to come out (for me at least) is when all of the orange blossoms are blooming (late march/early april). the weather is perfect and you can drive around the east side of the valley with your windows down smelling the sweet air.

I also wanted to go farther up the apache trail to tortilla flat, canyon lake and others but didn't have time.

thanks, I was thinking about driving up the mountain.
if you do have some extra time, a quick jaunt up the 17 to someplace north of black canyon city is pretty beautiful. lots of lookouts there. maybe even heading out of the 60 to superior. lots of old mining history up there...

Thanks.

I'm back in the airport about to leave to go back to boston. I checked the weather and it's going to be in the 90's tomorrow, I think the heat is following me home

I ended up driving up the south mountains and taking some pictures there one day and the next day I had some time I drove up to the superstition mountains and hiked up some of the paths at the lost dutchman state park. It was beautiful and I was the only one around so it made it even more peaceful.

depending on what time you are going to be out and about, you could always pack a good pair of shoes and some shorts and hike up south mountain. its not too far from the downtown area and will give you some pretty good views of the city...

If you are into museums you could check out the Mining museum or several of the other museums we have here. It is going to be 105°F+ during that time so doing much outside isnt going to be as desirable.

Hey all,

I'll be on a business trip to Phoenix from this upcomming Sunday through Wednesday. Since I will be working, I won't have time to drive up to the Grand Canyon, but I am looking to spend a few hours sight seeing Sunday and also on Wednesday morning.

Can anyone recommend any good places for taking pictures of the city/scenery? Any place that you suggest is a "must see" while I am here?

Thank you
