Random disconects 04073

I been with GWI for about 3 years. I have to constantly reset my router. I have spoken with TS several times over the past few months and it seems the only solution is to keep slowing down my connection... My line is within 20mb distance but the most I can get is 7mb/.5. I pay for for 10mb/1mb. At this point it seems that Metrocast can offer 7mb/.5 for the same price but more stable!

Does anybody else have constant disconnects?
Is there a router that will reset itself?

My connection is rock solid. Have you tried running without the router?

I had a modem that went bad. It would slowly lose sync until the connection wouldn't work any longer. Throughput would drop and packet loss would increase gradually. Resetting the modem fixed the problem for about a day or so. It drove me crazy until I went out and bought a new modem. The modem was over five years old at the time.

I have tried to reset the modem that doesn't work, only resetting the router works. TS says I am connected but the router will not be. The disconnects are very random and my network consist of 6 computers, I can't run without the router for too long.

We can buy our own Modems?

If resetting the modem doesn't work, then I'd say you've narrowed it down to the router. Why not replace it?

Yes we can buy our own modems, though I'm sure GWI would've replaced mine had I asked them.
