Rest in Peace join:2004-08-07 New York, NY | "We're Not Aiming To Unseat Telcos" YET Its funny, because I guarantee that once this service is more widespread they will directly target the telco offerings. Right now they dont want to muddy the water, which is a good plan given that they only serve 2 markets right now. Watch the PR and advertising switch fairly quickly once a larger rollout is complete. I suspect by the end of the summer (when a number of other markets are projected to be online) we will be seeing ads comparing their service to local offerings. -- When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat. -Ronald Reagan-

They are already in development. Whether they are 3rd party provided, or purchased directly through Clearwire, remains to be seen. I have seen some dual mode wifi/wimax units, and they look pretty nice. I have also seen some actual cell phones with wimax as well, so there is a lot of cool new gear coming soon. -- When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat. -Ronald Reagan-

 | reply to DaveDude Currently only available in Russia on the YOTA mobile WiMax network. You can make wireless VoIP calls just like a mobile phone. The reviews are currently satisfactory.
