Grumpy : There is a weird setting in my Aeron that tips the seat forward about 10 degrees. When I bought it, it was tipped forward like that, and I didn't know any better. I couldn't help but think, "What the Hell is it that people like about these damned things?" "I'd rather sit on a wheel barrow handle." Then I found the online manual, and tweaked it to its proper position. Doh!

The Aerons are a little weird at first, for the seats are not padded. Once you get used to that (in around an hour), they're very comfortable, and well made. At 240 lbs, I got tired of throwing away $100 chairs that place the entire seating load upon the customary 4" X 4" with four little screws type bracket.

When I bought mine, they offered two Aeron models designed for the user's body weight. I have the skinny people's model, and so my legs are slightly cramped at the forward portion of the seat, but it isn't a big deal.

My butt always gets sore from the sort of cheaper chairs I use. That mess stuff looks like it would hurt...
--
Join Teams Helix and Discovery.
pandora : I'm in my home office a bit more of late, and my office chair is getting a bit long in the tooth. I think it just celebrated it's 10th anniversary.

I prefer to buy a chair after trying it out. I'm looking for a large well padded home office leather chair that swivels. Aside from Staples, do you guys have any place in Connecticut that you like to buy home office chairs at?

Price is a concern, it must be under about $350 and there must be delivery by the seller. I have no way to take a large chair into my SUV without risking it getting seriously ripped.

Thanks for any suggestions. I'm in Danbury, so anything on the east side of the state is probably too far.
--
"People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use."
