Re: DIR 825 Firmware v1.11b01 beta Released Using 1.10NA because it added Shareport functions which I thought I wanted. It turns out Shareport allows one computer at a time to login and then log out which is not ideal. One user must log out before the next can log in. Then shareport only installed on one of my two macs. I got it to work after manually loading a Belkin usb kernel extension instead of D-Link's. After a trial, I returned the hard drive to the desktop so both computers could use it at the same time, quit using the usb on the router, and and un-installed Shareport. It's not like having an ethernet server.
As far as connection and speed with v1.10 I've had zero problems with the 825 router using G 2.4 on intel and PPC macs and Airport Extreme. Under heavy use, running for 10 days straight passing bitTorrents on both machines at the limit of the ISP's speed. Input is 500Kbps wireless broadband. But I'm not gaming - and that's the true test of capacity.
I'm adding N dual band adapters to both computers this weekend and will up the router firmware this morning to the one mentioned in this thread. It says it restores B? WLYK.
Read something about port forwarding not working? With v1.10 it seemed ok, but I'm not and expert at anything. |

| I too am getting router lockups once every 24 hours after the 1.11 firmware upgrade. I have tried turning nearly every setting off and it still doesn't solve the problem. It's really too bad I can't downgrade the firmware on this.
If someone finds out a solution to this, please post it. Otherwise I am getting a new router that isn't a D-Link. This isn't acceptable. |
