Re: FIOS TV Central website access with Non AT Router?

Success with Remote DVR and Apple Airport Extreme in front.

I am running a 2008 model Airport Extreme in the LAN->WAN FAQ configuration mode.

My Actiontec is running the 4.0.16.1.56.0.10.11.6 firmware. It is one of the early Actiontec routers. Not sure of exact revision. Actiontec hands out 192.168.1.10x IPs to STBs - other than that, main LAN is controlled by Airport Extreme. No special open ports. No lack of firewall, no DMZ. Fairly simple configuration.

Remote DVR was working with previous 7.3.2 Airport firmware. I could access my DVR scheduling and information from Verizon Central no problems.

When I upgraded the Airport Extreme to firmware 7.4.1 a couple months ago, Remote DVR stopped working. If I reverted the firmware back to 7.3.2 Remote DVR would work again.

I wanted to use the 7.4.1 updated firmware and chalked up the lack of Remote DVR to an open channel that Apple had closed as part of the security update.

About a week ago, after trying the website again and getting the 'remote dvr unavailable' message, I decided to turn off remote dvr on the DVR STB. I then waited until I remembered today. When I went to Verizon Central and logged in the site immediately prompted me to activate Remote DVR, and then proceeded to load all my DVR stuff in the web app. Success!

So again.

Airport Extreme Gigabit N - 2008 Model - Firmware 7.4.1
Actiontec Firmware 4.0.16.1.56.0.10.11.6
Actiontec connected in LAN->WAN to Airport
Remote DVR works.
