In order to save some money- I was thinking of downgrading my Time Warner cable service to basic cable- but I really love my DVR. Is it possible to purchase a DVR that I could run my signal though to record television programs. My ideal scenario would be to not have a cable box at all. I would just connect the coax coming out of the wall to an input on this DVR and then run coax or RCA out to the TV. I know I won’t get any guide info- but I don’t care about that. Is such a box available to the public? Can one purchase a DVR? Does one have to have at least a Standard Definition Set Top Box to use it? Does anyone know any makes and/or models of DVR's I could purchase? Any advice on what I am trying to accomplish would be appreciated.

why waste a extra 80+$ for crappy tv service
by using IPTV (100% ad free + 100% free)
cost about 160$ for TV +phone + internet (with few cable boxes)
without cable under 80$
i get max download speed(with PowerBoost exploit)(about 2.2MB/s) and get's 45min show(1hour shows) in under 6min up to 4 days of advance airing (verys by time zone)
such show as Mythbusters.S07E06 i saw it on the 9th
