3 edits | Roadrunner toggling upload speed on premium service?
I signed up for roadrunner Turbo a week ago. The lines they advertise here is 15/1 (22 with boost). Everything was going fine until today when the internet is running a lot slower then usual, slower then my previous subscription package. So i decided to run another speed test, after closing all my application and resetting my modem of course.
Here are the results
»www.speedtest.net/result/474759703.png on avg, its 8mbits downspeed without boost.
.50kbs, that is less then half of what they advertised! This has been going on for quite a while now. It really cheeses me off when i'm paying for faster internet just to get ripped off all for nothing. Is anyone else getting the same thing? |

Then your definition of "quite a while now" is defined by what ? 1-2-3-4 days ?
Ripped off ? And you've been able to come to that conclusion after less than a complete weeks usage ? What ? You 13 or sumthin ? |

Is anyone else getting the same thing? I too am getting very strange readings as the speed tests (without a load mind you) keep going way up, but my real up and down load times with loading pages is getting much slower! I also use a little free utility from PC Mag called SurfSpeed2 (it is a 2nd ed. - duh) that loads 10 web pages and calculates your actual surf speed this way. Since it always uses the same 10 websites, the speeds are pretty accurate. You can also compare your speed with others as PC Mag also keeps a tabulation for everyone who uses the utility.
But even with the below speeds, it sometimes takes 10 seconds for a page to load. So..... go figure. Kinda like the difference in pulling an empty wagon up a hill or a full wagon up the hill. Put a coyote on that bird and watch it NOT fly! (Several phone calls later) ...and then try to get any kind of answer from tech support and you would do better to just go take a nap because it is a BROKEN recording that I have been hearing for about 3 years or so now since they took over from Adelphi! But the jerks keep saying you will be getting blazing speeds to your home/office network thru fiber! Balderdash!

My speeds are almost perfect on my Turbo+ advertised at 30Mbps Downstream and 2.0Mbps Upstream.

| Sorry this link is to a *.pdf but it explains why I say my Boosted (On Turbo+) downstream is 30 instead of 20Mbps.
At times I exceed 30Mbps to 31 or even 32
