44402812 posted : Just FYI I had problems, outages, whatever you want to call it with the ViaTalk forwading. Also, I have forwaded calls to my cell from ViaTalk and had crappy sound quailty. So if you going to judge their service do it fairly when ViaTalk is out of the loop. Been with PhonePower 6 months and never had a single noticeable outage. Have a good weekend :)

chemie posted : Thanks. This is what I needed.

I travel a lot right now and only had this week-end to setup the GS for the house. Leaving again tomorrow so it is NOT an option to leave with either phone or gaming down as family would revolt. "Try it" is not currently an option but I will try it in front when I can be here to troubleshoot.

I have Viatalk number on auto-forward and everthing wired to GS and will see how service compares for the next month.

Looking for ports to forward instead.

I do not want in front as there can be issues with online gaming with double NAT

I'm a gamer and have had no problems with it in front on the router. Why don't ya at least try it first before saying could, should, or would, lol? Here are the instructions for Linksys. Just improvise a little for your router. All ya had to do was search for port forwarding in the FAQ.

Any particular reason you feel the need to have the HT502 behind the router? With the HT-502 before the router it gives QOS and if the router were to act screwy it would affect your phone service? I have had me HT-502 before my router for months transferring 30-40 gigs to my router and it has been rock solid.
