[Zoom] Recommended MTU for Zoom X5 model 5654

I found a mint Zoom X5, model 5654 for a measly buck at a thrift shop. It works brilliantly, and was simple to set up. Specifically, the serial of this Zoom ADSL modem was an older, pre 2007 version, made in 2006 that doesn't have the yellow/green colour coded ethernet ports.

While configuring, one noticed the MTU setting in the "advanced" tab was pegged at 1500. Knowing that the MTU setting on my switch and router are also same, I figured on not messing with it, and got it on line.

The question: Knowing my ISP's MTU setting is 1492, shall I change it, or don't bother. I am leaning toward not bothering since if it's not broken, don't fix it, as the modem functions really well. Thank you in advance for any answers.

If you are using PPPoA in the Zoom then 1500 is correct.
If you are using PPPoE in the Zoom then 1492 is correct.

The Advanced setting may not actually apply until enabled, meaning that you should check what the BBR Tweak Test shows your actual MTU to be.
