I have a Tom Tom One, Third Edition. I have yet to loose signal. Today, I was driving home, and was going under a major expressway cluster fu&k, expecting to loose signal due to no clear sky, and suprisingly, my signal did decrease by around 50% however, still kept me on course and never completly lost signal.
i never lose it on expressway either, its just when im in the middle of the city

with some quick googling, looks like the c330 uses an older chipset

any newer garmin should have the newer chipset which should be able to get a signal better........however the 'nuvi' line is kind of 'dumbed down'

might help if you let us know what exactly you want from your gps, and i may be able to offer you some suggestions

you are gonna have a better signal if you get a GPS that has the ability to have an external antenna plugged in. my tomtom has that option but i have yet to have the need for an external antenna where i live.
here's an amazon link to the TomTom External Antenna for GO 510 and 910 and ONE Navigators.

i currently have an old Garmin C330 gps that i had bought couple years ago, the problem with it is that it loses SIGNAL when i am in downtown, basically within city roads in the middle of highrise buildings

im looking for a new one that will work well in the city especially when im driving in the middle of highrise buildings, any recommendations ? i personally like garmin's functionality for other reasons, so I wouldnt mind having another garmin, although my main concern is that it should not lose signal in the city
