not that i've ever seen

tomtom's can avoid specific parts of routes

and tomtom's can use mapshare to block off specific roads for yourself, but that would be time consuming

It would be sweet if there was such a thing! I have telenav on my t-mobile g1 (and sony ericsson phone, trying it out to see which phone works best) and it has the option to avoid traffic but if i can avoid a train, even better! If i can take a different road to avoid a 10 minute train, that would be worth it.

I'd imagine in a lot of cases you'd have to drive pretty far to find a bridge in order to avoid one. In almost 30 years of driving I think I've only been held up by a train... like 5 times.

I can get held up by a train 2-3 times a day. That's what i get for living near the burlington northern and union pacific lines. Suburban chicago is just like that.
