I can get held up by a train 2-3 times a day. That's what i get for living near the burlington northern and union pacific lines. Suburban chicago is just like that.

I have telenav on my t-mobile g1 (and sony ericsson phone, trying it out to see which phone works best) and it has the option to avoid traffic but if i can avoid a train, even better! If i can take a different road to avoid a 10 minute train, that would be worth it.

tomtom's can avoid specific parts of routes
