I have all 3 signals with a "Channel ID" now (before only 1 or 2), and its 2:00AM EST here.

I notice that my upload will never go higher than around 10 till 5AM :P I host my own server, so that might be an issue later on. I am not complaining, I am just saying.

However IMHO these are not "real world" results. This reminds me of a car dyno, sure you can get 450 rwhp, but how are the track times :P Lets keep that debate to another thread though...

Tested Usenet with both Astraweb and Giganews. Giganews seems to be a shy tad faster (sometimes by as much as 1MB/sec) but I'm still seeing 9-11MB/sec on both. At these speeds the network fluctuates. Quake Live pings didn't seem any better.

I haven't gotten around to running real world upload tests.

I've enclosed some tasty images.

Some other things to note...

I was the 8th Ultra install the tech had done, it was also his quickest. 45~ Minutes. It was a simple modem swap. Two more are scheduled for this upcoming week in my area. I previously had two boost modems and since I only had a single drop coming into the house a cvc contractor ran RG-11 from the pole to my house for that original setup. I asked the tech that came today if there was any issue with the signal, he would've ran RG-11 from the pole to my house.

Hi Their,

Can you post the cisco dpc 3000's web interface with the "Setup" tab open? I just want to see what it offers in features. You know DHCP, port forwarding, anything like that?
Thanks

Installation was a breeze, took about an hour for the Ultra part of the installation. Tech also installed voip, dvr cable box and ran new coax cable to the new cisco modem.

What took the time was the tech having wait for a office tech to move the Boost service to the new modem from the old modem which is now doing just VoIP. New modem can't connect to Ultra without first being a "boost" modem, they then bond to two additional download frequencies.

Awesome service well worth any associated fees, though the fees are pretty steep. The global rank speaks for itself !!!!!

Here are my best results:

Just got installed. Tech came and went in under 45 minutes. A new drop wasn't really possible since I live in a highrise building.

That's pretty impressive for a MDU - cabling must be relatively new and certainly in good shape....

Using a router, or direct to a computer ?

Enjoy !

I'm on the 23rd of 24 floors as well. That's with a D-Link DGL-4500 router.

Are any of you noticing any differences in speedtest.net reported speeds between Firefox and Internet Explorer? Firefox's results seem in line 100% with my DU Meter results, however Internet Explorer's results seem exaggerated, by 3mbit on the upstream and 10 on the downstream.

Just had Ultra installed and I'm getting terrible speeds. I had Boost already.

Getting:

30-50 d/l
~13 U/l

Using a Dlink DIR-655 & Realtek 1GB NIC.

The Cicso is split off of my SBV5222.

Tried direct connect without the splitter and router but same result.

The Techs laptop gave him 100/15 or so. I am running Windows 7 and thought I had things tuned the right way.

Any advice would be appreciated.

My suspicion would be that the NIC is configured for half-duplex - not full duplex. Check your NIC properties - probably under 'Advanced' somewhere.

For Windows 7 you're better off not tuning the TCP stack.. Set everything back to the defaults and see if it makes a difference.

This really sucks. Getting around 65/14. Setting netsh int tcp set global congestionprovider=ctcp gave me a little bump.

When the tech was here he stated something to the affect that my Tap is low speed and not high speed. He didn't mention if that was bad or not. I assume if it was he would have changed it.

btw is there a way to get into the modems setup screens etc like my sbv5222?

Have you tried downloading a couple of big files at the same time? I believe that if it is a TCP window problem, you should be able to download 2 files faster then 1 file.
