Replace 3xT1

Looking to lower cost. We currently have a 3xT1 and would like to keep at least our current bandwidth if not more and cheaper than what we currently pay.

Does this price include line monitoring?

Re: Replace 3xT1

What type of line monitoring are you looking for? We do not actively watch every circuit 24/7/365, however if there is some issue that you are reporting, we can certainly watch the line, and monitor it for issues.

Something that monitors if the circuit goes down and to alert us that it is down and also have the ISP start working on a resolution. What we want is our ISP to be proactive not reactive when the circuit goes down. Our current ISP will start diagnosing the problem usually before we know the circuit went down.

Re: Replace 3xT1

That isn't something we do, and I'll tell you why. If we did, and saw the circuit go down (Hard down), we still need to talk with someone on site, before we can really do any GOOD troubleshooting. We need to check basic things on site fist. A good example, would be power. What if your location losses power at 2am, we start working it, and get the ILEC out at 3am, only to find out your circuit is down because your building has no power. That is a ton of wasted time, and energy, all for something we have no control over.

So we depend on the user to report any problems, this way we can work together on a resolution.

Thanks for your honest response. However, I understand the possibility of equipment failure at our premise but we have had outages caused by bad equipment at the carrier's premise that was proactively repaired before we could report the outage. Because we had 24/7 monitoring we were notified about this outage and the steps being taken to resolve it. We would like the ISP to at least investigate up to a certain point in the network to find out where the circuit went down. We also get reports on latency. It is this type of monitoring that I was asking about. We are willing to pay a premium for this type of service.

Re: Replace 3xT1

Not a problem at all, there are some carriers, and ISP's out there, that do offer what you are looking for. We did do this in the past, but it turned into to many false positive type issues, where we spent time and money trouble shooting a non-issue (power related, user turning CPE off, etc.) I hope you find what you are looking for.

AT&T and ACC Business do that with their internet services. they will not have no-profit pricing like you've seen so far. PM me if you would like me to run a quote for you.

Any other options available other than bonded T1's in our area?

It appears ethernet may be an option for you. I don't know that it will save you money though. It will probably get your more bandwidth for your money though.

Email me at jbarnes@shopfort1.com if interested.

Give us a call we should be able to hit you with one of our partners via wireless

Just as fast and reliable as a T-1 and we activaly monitor the circuit 24x7

Same type of SLA as a T-1 and faster response and install time as we can usually have it up and running within a couple days notice.

One of the major POPS is right there near you of centerlake north of the airport.
