Re: [general] We have FIOS now

There is not much of a used market for the dish, but the modem and TRIA are desired. People have turned the dishes into watering bowls for birds, a reflector of sunlight for solar cookers and targets.

The TRIA is the electronics on the end of the boom on the dish where the coaxial cables connect. The buyer needs to know the polarization of the TRIA to determine whether it will work on his satellite. This may be marked on the TRIA. If your system was installed before March 2007 and has not been serviced since then, it is probably left handed. Otherwise, you need to find a marking.

Left handed circular polarization is for the satellite Anik-F2.

Right handed circular polarization is for the satellite Wildblue-1.

Some suggestions for where to list them:

BBR: For Sale/Wanted

Wildblue.cc: For Sale / Trade

or on ebay. Here is a current auction on ebay.

A typical price for a used TRIA is $50 plus buyer pays shipping, and I am not sure about the modem.
