Don't use torrents...use newsgroups.
Starting out and for music....just use your isp's news server if they offer one...usually free.
You will end up buying a subscription for a faster server and never look back....that is, in regards to torrents.
I don't use either, but I know one thing, I wont ever use torrents for illegal files, I rarely use torrents for linux downloads.
