According to Netgear your 802.11b devices should connect.

Yes, I know. I got the Sirius Stiletto radio to connect by fluke chance only once when I first installed the Netgear WNR3500 router. But after I disconnected the radio since that time, never again would it associated and connect to this router again! It finds the SSID network says its strong, tries to connect and then fails to connect, all the time now. I run the router in Mixed mode b/g/n and am not about to lower the router speed to just b or b/g only. I have now two Linksys routers (WRT610N and WRT320N) and a new Dlink DIR-655 A4 router. The Sirius router has not problem connecting to the Linksys and Dlink routers. All routers set to mixed mode operation. So something is funky in Netgear's algorithm which refuses to recognize a connection request from the Sirius 802.11B radio. That's my only gripe though for this Netgear WNR3500 for my use. It has and is a solid strong reliable router for me. It has not ever dropped connections since I've had it running over a month now. I would recommend it for those searching for a reliable wireless 2.4Ghz N router. I am now trying out a new Dlink DIR-655 hardware version A4 and that one seems to be holding up very well also. But I've only had it for a day now... no drop outs with it neither, yet.

I don't know why Netgear put out a new WNR3500 V2 when the V1 is solid. Maybe cost reduction at play here. There is nothing wrong with the V1 by my experience with it.
