A few weeks ago Dekalb county was saying that they were not going to decrease the evals on homes. Seems they had a change of thought after many complaints. Got my new appraised value in the mail today. Property is $22,000 less now. Ahhh to be in a zip code with a lot of foreclosers. Not sure how much tax will go down tho. -- Bowling: It's cleaner than baseball.
Their assessments have always been off. They were 25% below what houses were selling for here for years (Mainstreet). Then in the last few they went up considerably even though house prices stayed the same. They did finally reach parity with the selling prices last year.
Now they dropped below what they are selling for by about 10%. -- Scott Henion
