That was something my roommate arranged.
That and there were some Verizon reps figuratively stomping the pavement and trolling for people that would be interested in the service. Needless to say, he'd responded and we got it in on the first day it went live. We were already subscribers of Verizon's DSL, so that was the upgrade for the internet.
