Re: 1701HG & Embarq

Sounds as if you have the wrong keycode. What keycode are you using?

A key code is automatically put in when I go in there

Re: 1701HG & Embarq

You most likely still have the AT&T dynamic keycode in the gateway(522P-22P4-6262-22AT-F2NV). If embarq did not provide you with a setup code go to the broadband advanced settings and enter your providers information

    •Connection type (PPPoE/PPPoA/Direct IP)
    •ATM Path (VPI/VCI)
    •IP settings (If applicable)

Re: 1701HG & Embarq

Connecting to the configuration server is not going to affect your internet connection. The configuration server is part of 2wire's CMS system that collects CPE data, allows remote upgrades and access by 2wire technicians, and a whole bunch of other things. The router periodically checks in with these servers so even if the connection fails when you run the setup wizard it should continue to phone home until it gets through.

Edit: The missing options you mentioned may require a connection to the configuration server before they appear and/or work correctly however.

Re: 1701HG & Embarq
