It is SATA, but the connector is proprietary. At least what I'm used to with 3.5'' drives. |

(Edit): The diagram shown on the drive's label indicates that it indeed uses a Standard SATA Interface...

And as Tursiops_G said, most laptops have a small 'adapter' on the drives, it should just pull out and have the standard SATA connections on the drive. |

 | reply to XPAMD Yeah, like tursiops said - that's just an adapter on the SATA drive to make it fit the laptop. It's a standard SATA drive. Which is sweet, because you can just throw it into your desktop as a 2nd drive if it has SATA ports on it. Standard power / data connectors, unlike the IDE laptop drives.
You just need to remove the adapter by pulling evenly / gently away from the drive. Double check the edges first, sometimes HP screws them down. |
