[Cable] service for constant monitoring a remote connection
Is there a service you folks offer that allows me to monitor the bandwidth of a remote site externally. I have a situation where I have several sites that connect through the Internet via high speed cable to a central Windows 2000 Terminal Server. We occasionally get slowdowns/disconnections reported at the remote sites. I want to be able to monitor the remote sites for extended periods of time and be notified any time the bandwidth at the site falls below a certain minimum - e-mail alert. As an example if site A gets less than 5 megabytes on its cable connection I want to be notified.
If you don't provide the service I would appreciate to being pointed in the right direction - either another service, software ,configuration... whatever it takes.
remote monitoring on cable connection over to your central terminal server? Answer is no-no I suggest is using email, email is pretty fairly reliable to alert you be notified about slow speed/bandwidth problem and if you want to continuous monitoring your remote then you should login to your windows 2000 terminal server over on your home cable connection to check an status of results about speed/bandwidth problem and checking all of logs about it. -- Professional Linux environmental blows microsoft windows out of the water.
