Hmm I thought there was something to yanniep's allegations but the timing doesn't make sense, nor does the fact that Henrii Audet still has 72% voting stake. Maybe it was a group consensus that lead to all the lousy decisions that were made, and not just the responsibility of one person. |

woohoo ill be leaving cogeco soon next and so will a few others i know here we come tekksavvy !!! Yes, you should let Louis Audet (CEO of Cogeco from April 2009 after his father Henri Audet) know that he is going the wrong way with his new policies for change to happen. WTF Louis has been CEO since way before April 09 which end of your ass did you yank that statement from??? Louis became CEO of Cogeco in 1993. Yes Henri stepped down from the board in April 09 but Louis has been running things since 93. You should really do more homework before sticking your foot in your mouth like that.

| reply to msrosie said by msrosie :I have no intention of leaving Cogeco Don't kid yourself . Cogeco isn't the worst company in Canada. If you go down to the US, there is a company called Comcast which offers much higher speeds and 250GB limit. Besides, ever since Louis Audet took over as CEO for Cogeco in April, 2009, after his father Henri Audet, Louis has been flushing the company down the toilet with his newer policies. People should switch to show Cogeco that they should change their service policies. |

30Mb/1Mb unlimited traffic - 44.99 (~$70 CAD) Sounds like a good deal, I'll take it. I'd be happy with the 10/512 unlimited for $38! |

Has Cogeco raised their rates in Quebec or Portugal (the place we're subsidizing after they lost their shirt)? Yes
About your CaboVisao exemple : very few people are really aware of the situation there so noone can really compare anything that is happening over the big pond... |

Cabovisao packages: 3Mb/256Kb, unlimited traffic during "happy hour" - 17.99 (~$28 CAD) 10Mb/512Kb unlimited traffic - 23.99 (~$38 CAD) 30Mb/1Mb unlimited traffic - 44.99 (~$70 CAD) No way guys, it's all about density, density indeed and not a lack of competition and poor regulation. -- I love fish sticks. | reply to Fireblade said by Fireblade :Cogeco used to have good retention, now they don't even care. You'd think a decent business would at least ASK why you were leaving. You can use feedback like that to try and improve your business so that you don't lose customers. It's pretty obvious that Cogeco just doesn't give a sh!t. |

| reply to Lexx I suppose I'm more lucky than some as TekSav can offer me max (.6) 5Mbps speed. For this month though, since today is my Cogeco billing date I downgraded from Pro to Standard. If I can use this service paying the maximum overage and not be suspended I'll be paying the same as Pro before overages and I'll keep it. If not I have a full month to have TekSav replace Cogeco.
Not that it would have made a difference to me at this point but for anyone wondering if Cogeco cares about losing business, they didn't bother to ask why I was downgrading so no, no retention try.
Just want to add that since my first high priced modem, a ZOOM 2400 baud which I still have boxed with the original sticker price I paid of $450.00 I have always been quick to switch to higher speed, always paying whatever it took to have the best: went through all dial-up modems USR released as they were released, from BBS' to the internet, then to my first Western Co-Axial high speed modem at 45K downstream then to Cogeco with, that I recall and not necessarily in order or complete, the Wave, Cgocable and @Home to Cogeco today. Until even a year ago at 16/1, before the last price increase (not the forthcoming one in effect on the 16th) I was okay with what I had. And even when Cogeco began to suspend for abuse I was still okay with what I had, afterall I didn't abuse. But with no new service increases, a rather large second quick price increase and overage charges and possible suspension even after paying what would be around $140 with taxes on standalone Pro, for the first time since I've owned computing devices I have downgraded. All these years later I am finally shifting into reverse and buying lower speed. And in the end it still isnt a money issue, it is a need to take a moral based stand. |
