 | Slow connection I have basic DSL with connection speeds usually well below what is advertised for the service. Normally that's okay for what I do but with my son now home from college and wanting to game I'm getting lots of complaints about the speed.
If I can't get near max speed at basic service, is there any point in trying to upgrade to one of the higher services?
Lastest speed tests were about 300Kbps down and 312Kbps up.

I've had this DSL connection for many many years and had lots of problems over the years with connection speed. Last year someone from this forum was very helpful in getting my connections fixed to get even these speeds. |

 | reply to MickeyCT meskinct - if your post is a suggestion to read the FAQ's. I've done that many times over the years and put to use as many of the items that apply as I can. I'm just too far from the routing station and that causes line problems.
I'm just wondering if there is something unique in upgrading the service that might also increase the speed. If not, then I'm out of luck as everything else has been tried by me and by AT&T Technicians over the years.
