DIR-825 FW 1.11 A1 stability bug

Just polling if anyone has seen this as well, after a few days, the router stops working and needs a power cycle. The last symptom is that it
1) stops forwarding
2) conitunes to respond to pings from the inside
3) wont allow the admin page to be pulled.

Firmware 1.11NA, DIRE-825 A1

Re: DIR-825 FW 1.11 A1 stability bug

I've had a similar issue with my own DIR-825 Firmware version 1.11NA, hardware version A1.

Router stops WAN forwarding, but continues LAN forwarding (I can remotely access a networked computer on my LAN) and refuses to acknowledge admin page access. This happens after less than 24 hours of use.

I have since temporarily replaced it with a Linksys WRT610N that I happen to have lying about. I eagerly await a revised firmware for the DIR-825.

The firmware on the router has been upgraded:

v1.00 -> v1.01 -> v1.10 beta -> v1.11b01 beta -> v1.11

There have been multiple releases of v1.11 with different file dates, but the binary of each possess the same MD5, but with differences in the text file containing the changelog.

Re: DIR-825 FW 1.11 A1 stability bug

Thanks. Not sure which subversion of 1.11 i have.
Did you hear of d-link admitting there is a problem or is this still an uphill battle?

There's a thread about it in the official D-Link forums.

What about the WRT610N results?

I got the Belkin N+ (review & score)

I also have the DIR-655 using that as AP for now, but go back to use it as the main router? But Belkin N+ is managing the network quite well.

Have the same problem with DIR-825/A1 and same symptoms here. Everything was fine before I upgraded to this firmware.

I've got this same problem. Over at d-link's forums, people are recommending turning off dns relay as a possible temporary fix, but mine is grayed out:

I have the same problem, but it still happens with DNS Relay off except it happens far less often. Why does D-Link still have FW 1.11 up on their site? Are they nuts or something?

I too have the A1 revision and am running FW 1.11 with the same issues as everyone else. I happened to be looking at some settings tonight, went to the Status Page and went to view the Logs and saw a low memory message. So I turned changed the View Level to show only Critical. I am going to reboot the router after I finish this post.

Not sure if it will help or not, but have nothing else to try. Just like everyone else, my router was working fine with FW 1.01. But me being the dork that I am, wanted to be running the latest FW...

This site is great.
After my DIR-825 locked up for the third time since the firmware upgrade, I pop into this forum and the first thing I see is a bunch of people with the exact same problem I have. Dropped WAN connection but with LAN working, and unable to access admin pages.

Prior to 1.11, this was the most stable router I have owned...
hopefully D-Link fixes this fast.

EDIT: In hindsight, I now realize this issue has been present for MONTHS and D-Link hasn't done anything. AND they still have 1.11 posted on their site.
