I supposed you could try removing battery and letting it stay removed for a day or two.
That's a really odd problem. It's like it's being discharged too quickly. I am surprised that no one here has chipped in any info yet. Though you might have gotten a faulty battery from the supplier.

clubs: | Actually he purchased 2 batteries so I will take your advice. He will remove the current new battery, wait a couple of days and then try new battery #2.
