I've actually done what you were asking; installed the 5-language standalone installation of Vista SP2 on top of the all-language edition of Vista SP1 on my mother's Dell Inspiron laptop and I have not encountered any serious problems.<br><br>It's already Tuesday June 23 and I have not seen any signs of the "all language" standalone downloads of Vista SP2 being offered at DLC (download center).  probably have to wait another week.  the officials at microsoft remain silent on "wave 1 - all language" release of Vista SP2.<br><br>For those who do have MSDN or Technet subscription accounts, the "all language" downloads of Vista SP2 were made available only to them on May 22 on the MSDN/Technet subscription downloads pages.]]></description>

I installed SP2 from a USB stick on my dual boot HP Vista/Ubuntu laptop. When it rebooted I got a grub error 17. I wondered what a service pack would be doing messing around with the mbr. I looked around Google for solutions and didn't see anything likely. Then I realized I still had the USB stick attached. Removed it, now all is OK. Disabled my anti-virus (McAfee) before installation.  On both lappy's it was a fairly quick and painless upgrade.  Outside of a noticeable amount of greater available disk space, probably because this automatically cleans up after itself, the changes seem pretty minor.  Maybe a bit more performance in a couple of areas, but nothing of a "wow" factor.  I've only had this for 2 days now though, so I may still run across something.  I can't really say too much until I've run it somewhat more.<br><br>On the positive side, I have yet to run into any hardware/software compatibility issues (knock on wood!)<br><small>--<br>Deeds, not words</small>]]></description>

I did get it to work by uninstalling Smart Security, rebooting into safe mode and manually deleting all Eset locations in Program Files and Program Data, and manually removing it in the registry. Rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted again and all is right. A lot of work in the end.]]></description>

I've had no problems using Smart Security v4 with SP2. Example: I have 8 gigs installed, and it would show only 4 gigs under total physical memory, even though it showed 8 gigs under installed physical memory. <description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/758253"><b>deke40</b></A> : Another thing you will notice is if you had a bunch of hidden updates they are no longer listed.  <br><br>I don't have Microsoft Word or Office installed so therefore I hide these updates.  I noticed a blurb while installing SP2 about installing previous updates but didn't pay much attention to it.<br><br>I don't that is affected any thing in my Programs & Features portion of my control panel.<br><br>I guess they are just removed from the hidden section of the update configuration.]]></description>
