Re: [Notebooks] This Guy takes the cake.

Correct me if I am wrong, but when you activate the 60 day trial does it not "register"? I may be wrong, but I believe that this is the case...

At any rate, as you said, if he just flat out does not want to pay for MS Office, then Open Office should certainly suffice, although, IMHO, as really decent as Open Office is, I do not equate it to being as good as MS Office...That is certainly no big deal when considering the cost differential!

I friend of mine is probably the cheapest guy in the world. You know the type ....goes for cheapest brand of cigarettes, buys grocery brand cola because its 10 cents cheaper, etc.
Well he called me up to tell me his parents bought him an aspire one netbook like mine.
His question was this Microsoft Office (stundent version) comes with it in 60 day trial, and wanted to know if at the end of the trial he restores his computer to factory
specs using the restore partition could he use a different email address and get 60 more days?
I told him "why bother" just download open office . Its free and is just as good.
He'll probably even try restoring the netbook just to save a buck.

Never chase a dragon with a butterfly net. It annoys the dragon and will probably get you burnt!
