HD problems Lexington

For the last couple of days many HD channels seem to be stuttering a bit, like they are missing frames of animation. Some channels not at all, like ESPN,but some, like TNT,are quite bad.
It's not my set,as movies and games are fine.I have unplugged the DVR for a few hour stretch to reset it,but no luck.
Is anyone else in Lexington area seeing anything similar?

I am in Shelbyville Kentucky, but the problems that you are describing are indicative of a Poor SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio). My course of action for you would be to check all of your cable connections and splitters. If you had added any splitters into the cable wiring of your house on your own I would recommend that you remove it and try again.

You can also look and see what the SNR is by doing the following. Turn off your cable box and then immediately hit the ok/select button. It will bring up a menu with lots of options. You will want to go down to ODB Status. Also before you turn off the box you will want to tune to an HD channel. Then you will see a list with 2 Tuners, and in that status list you will see SNR, which I would like you to post the number that it has there. It would look something like this (19.0 Poor) and then also see if there are any numbers showing up on the 5-Second Error Count. If there are numbers showing up there, then look over to the next line and see how many Uncorrectable errors are showing up.

After you have done all of this and posted your results, and you still can't get to it, its going to be time to call Insight. There could be a problem at the TAP, or to the wiring to your house, or in many other places. They have the gear to track that down. The other thing I have seen in the past is that one of the tuners in the box could have gone bad as well, and this information that you will post back will let us know if that is the problem or not.

Good Luck, hope this helps out.

My SNR for both tuners hovers around 37db and is listed as Good.
5 second error count is 0000 as well.
I removed my only small splitter.
I had Insight reset the box, which helped, but some channels are still choppy. The problem is,my other DVR exhibits no symptoms. It was recently reformatted remotely by Insight.

I'm at a real loss, and I am not going to have a lot of patience with this issue.
