5667 Model 060-5667-010 telnet issues

I have a Speedstream 5667 (With model #060-5667-010 on the rear). My connection speeds are slow, and I would like to collect more data or view the configuration web page (if any) or telnet interface. The unit is used on AT&T West, and it advertises DHCP.

I have tried telnet to the DHCP gateway IP address, no dice.

I have hooked a PC directly to the modem, and set the PC to IP address 192.168.1.2, netmask 255.255.255.0 and gateway 192.168.1.1. Telnet to 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.254.254 give nothing.

How can I get some more data on how this router is set up?

What does it advertise for DHCP Gateway?

It will respond to Telnet (depending on Firmware version and type) at either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.254.254 and each Gateway IP requires different manual settings for the LAN on the single PC connected that is directly connected to the 5667 (no other Routers in the way).

I tried exactly that, as described above, with no dice.

What are the values given out by DHCP to when you set your PCs TCP/IP settings back to "Automatically Obtain IP Address"?

You cannot connect to 192.168.254.254 when using the settings for connecting to 192.168.1.1 as they are not in the same subnet. You have to use different settings applicable for each IP connection attempt (one set of numbers in your TCP/IP settings for 192.168.1.1 and another set of numbers for 192.168.254.254) and you must make sure that the Windows Firewall (or any other software Firewall) is not blocking Telnet.

You must be directly connected to the 5667 using a single PC with no Router in the way
