Re: Westell phone splitter not working????

Then in the back of the house we have our land line phone.
Is there a filter on that land line phone?

If not, that could be the cause of your problem.

From your description, it sounds as if that land line phone might be killing your DSL (because it is not filtered). Then the DSL starts up again. When it first starts, it may use a high signal level that is adjusted down once the connection is established. And the noise you hear is due to that high initial high signal level.

Okay, I'm just guessing there. Make sure that the land line phone is filtered. Otherwise it is going to cause problems for you. And while about it, check that all phones are filtered.
