Hi, A fast busy on an outbound call generally occurs when your device thinks its registered but our end has lost communication with it. Any idea if anything has changed firmware wise or anything on your VZ equipment? I'm not familiar with whether they push updates out or not. -Brendan

No firmware has changed on either the router (a TrendNet TEW-621BRP, the model I have been using since becoming a VT customer) or the LinkSys PAP2 (older model sent to me by VT back in 2005). Since this seems isolated to my service and not system-wide I will try to capture some more information about the problem if it continues.
