| Using WRT 310N in Hybrid Network
I have a DSL connection (and therefore the modem) in my basement. This is the only DSL connection the house. I also have three CAT5E drops which lead to each of my kitchen, family room and master bedroom.
I have a WRT 310, which I want to keep in the kitchen or family room in order to ensure the best wireless connection through the house. I would also like to keep my NAS in the basement and have it accessible through the network.
Can I do as follows:
1) Connect the modem, NAS and the network drops to a simple switch in the basement;
2) Connect the wireless router to the network access point in the kitchen;
3) Connect my Mac Mini to network/internet, by Ethernet, to the wireless router;
4) Connect other laptops in the house to the wireless network
If the above wont work, Id appreciate a recommendation on what will work. Thank you so much. |

@bell.ca | It's a Siemens SpeedStream 4200. Looks like just a simple modem. |
