One small item that most people tend to forget about now-a-days.
Of course, the rulers of the states that original formed the union would probably be shocked at how much power the states have given over to the feds (in part due to people wanting a hand out at no APPARENT cost). -- I am not lost, I find myself every time. |

1 edit | The 14th Amendment has to be applied (incorporation doctrine) to the states specifically by a Supreme Court ruling, I believe. It doesn't automatically happen. For instance, many amendments have been incorporated for a long time, but the 2nd was only recently incorporated with the recent Heller decision. |
