A thanks to Teksavvy

Gotta give the praise when praise is due. I had talked a friend into ditching VDSL in the condo to be able to get Teksavvy internet. Needless to say it was a big deal, lots of confusion which resulted in Bell leaving the job done with phone lines crossed with someone else's number. When that finally got worked out, the DSL was synching at a measly 800/1.118, but they were well within the distance in downtown Toronto. I visited, determined that the issue was not the modem, router, or internal wiring, so we called up Teksavvy for a ticket to be made. They made sure that there would be a tech sent out as soon as possible, and to also call Bell directly (as the friend still had Bell phone). The tech Bell sent was garbage, said that the issue was in the apt, and basically screwed off for the day. The Bell tech that Teksavvy sent actually cared, spent about 2.5 hours troubleshooting, and finally found that another incompitent tech had forgotten to disconnect the link to the satillite on top of the condo, and therefore there was major noise on the line. Problem solved. Thanks for the help Teksavvy, and also a rare thank-you to a GOOD Bell tech.

Ouch, glad you got it all worked out. It can be troublesome with VDSL as there isn't really a smooth transition from VDSL to ADSL for various reasons but at least they shouldn't have any more issues.
