Changing displayed account info ?

How do I modify the info that shows for my account?

For instance, I see on a forum that I go to a lot, that a fellow has his company URL automatically listed at the bottom of all of his posts.

I figure it might be good for me to automatically have the URL of the IT company I work for, listed at the bottom of my posts. I'm not sure how to get to the area for my account info, so I can modify things to make the URL appear at the bottom of all my posts.

Thanks

Members > Prefs > Forum Prefs if I have the sequence correct will bring you to a page where you can include a "signature" where you can type in what you want to show at the bottom of your posts.

»/prefs/forum

A couple of things - it will only show if your post is longer than the actual signature and URLs in posting sigs that advertise commercial enterprises are generally not permitted. If you or someone else will realize a gain from it, monetary or otherwise, it is most likely unacceptable.

»Site FAQ

EDIT: Here is a better link for a more specific example of acceptable sigs.

Thanks for the info.

The url I wanted to post is commercial, so maybe it won't be acceptible.

I thought the one I saw was commercial...maybe not. It was typed in small font, not real obtrusive or commercially pushy. I guess thats why I thought it might be acceptible.

If you come across it simply hey mod it and one of us can check.

I'm not upset or anything. I just thought we might be able to automatically insert our urls in small print at the bottom of our posts.

NP. You can IM a mod with your url and see if it is acceptable.

The small font is an automatic thing! You cannot make it bigger, although you can use "bold", "italic" and a few basic other modifications. But if it's in your signature... it's small.

I work for an IT company. I thought that it might be acceptable for me to embed the url of the place I work at, at the end of my posts. Although I did notice that one fellow who did that, it was pretty small for him.

I just have to figure how to do that now.

Use the navigation bar to take this route:
Members==>Prefs==>Forum Prefs
It will take you to this page: »/prefs/forum

On that page you'll see a box labeled "posting sig". That is where you can enter it.
