Re: [RANT] COLD!

According to the Almanac (which I read, but really don't believe), we are getting hit the end of August. We shall see if that's so!

It certainly would not surprise me, though. This has been a crazy year for weather. Also, we are long overdue for one.

Though sometimes hurricanes bring badly needed rain and/or renew things.

Hurricanes are a mechanical relief valve for the heat of the sea. They do wreak havoc, I been through a few. I was watching the deadliest catch and how a Japanese typhoon system caused death and misery.

I always worry when one gets near my woman's island.

I remember years ago, they tried that with hurricanes, but it did not work.

That would be great if one day they can destroy those before they hit land. I don't think anyone can honestly say they want a hurricane!

One day human kind, if it survives, WILL be controlling the weather. It will save lives.

Pandora, I was telling one of my co-workers that it's too bad they don't have a way to just fly out over storm systems & destroy them. I am beginning to think that's the only way we're going to get rid of this one.

If they did, then maybe they could destroy winter storms & we wouldn't have them anymore!

Is it still rainy up there? One of my siblings said it has been super rainy.

It's reaching the mid 90's now here. I'd love it if it were warm enough to swim when I come up there, but not as hot as here.

I understand how it feels to get sick and tired of Winter weather, but now that I've had the opposite, I appreciate Winter better. There is just this mystical feeling that comes from a mildly windy, snowy late night out in the forests of New England.

Forecast for next week is rain. We already know what to expect when they forecast sun, so it doesn't look good at all.

I agree. We get more light in the middle of winter than we have over the past couple of months. There has been too much rain.

Okay, I know that cold does not appear it will be a problem anymore, but these clouds need to go away! I am getting so sick of waking up to them every morning! Are we ever going to get a SUNNY day again????

Fake? I think all of it is still up in "the air" so to speak. Nothing has been proven..one way or the other. I like to keep an open mind.

Well, Summer is starting next week. Is it finally going to start feeling like it?

My AC will never be run at this point!

Here in Connecticut, summers now seem cooler and wetter than in my youth while winters appear to be warmer and drier.
Counter-example- last winter. Neither warm, nor dry. In fact the whole "global warming" theory was fake and data was corrected. Is there a climate change? Maybe.. parts of the world that were cooler are now warmer and parts that were warmer are now cooler. Let's not forget that there was a mini ice-age only 200 years ago, are we comparing to that anomaly to determine that the current state is an anomaly? Throughout the ages the temperatures have experienced a way higher swing due to natural causes, so looking at a 50-100yrs slice when the cycles are 100,000yrs is insignificant.

Climate changes affect different areas of the world differently.

Contemplating this some time ago I have concluded that perhaps "global warming" may have changed Connnecticut's average climate to one with cooler, more rainy summers and warmer, drier winters.
So a cooling Connecticut climate would prove global warming to you?
Note bolded, please.

While not wishing to get into a debate on the veracity of scientific claims of anthropogenic global warming, climatological changes affect different areas differently due to local conditions. While the net effect of a change may be the same in nearly all areas, there will be local variations upon that net change.

Here in Connecticut, summers now seem cooler and wetter than in my youth while winters appear to be warmer and drier.

Alright.. this rain has gone too far.. Let's see.. it rained from April to last night, with very few dry days in between. In fact, it's been raining pretty much since May 2. Our electric bill revealed an interesting fact about temps.. last year's avg temp: 70ºF. This year: 62ºF.

I would rather take off clothes then put more on and I would rather use AC then Oil. In the south you can go to a swimming hole and cool off and have cold showers. Take a look around Ct. and you do not see many people outside in the Winter time compared to the Summer.

I have said it before: I'll trade ya, Sky King. I have spent most of my life in the South though I am from CT. As I write this it is nearly 90 degrees in my bedroom, I have no AC and just got a fan. Summer hasn't even started yet. I don't like it, it is oppressive. Cold you can dress warm for, but hot you can't shed for.

I am going to have to move my poor sweet guinea pig out of my room soon, and into my roomate's room which is 10 degrees cooler in the afternoon. She's very old and may not live much longer and I don't know if she is going to survive this hot summer coming. I dread summer every year.

If you can afford AC it is fine, but I can't afford AC.

June 2nd, at 7:30PM and it is sweltering in my room.
