Ok, what am I doing wrong? I just connected an HDMI cable and now I'm getting a msg the HDTV doesnt' support HDCP, it says I should disconnect the HDMI and connect the component connectors! I don't want to do that, I want to use the HDMI.

Yes, cable goes from TV to digital cable box. My TV says it has HDCP. Any ideas?

It's a Vizio SV470XVT FHDTV. Just fyi, there's a note that says "The HDMI input on the LCD TV supports High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). So it appears I do have that!

Ok. Try this. Turn off DVR, turn off tv. Unplug HDMI cable. Wait a minute. Plug in HDMI cable, turn on tv then turn on DVR. See if that works. You may even have to remove power from both for this to work initially. Who knows.

I had the same issue with my bravia, and after upgrading the hdmi cable, I then found these directions and everything has been working fine so far.
