Craigslist or ?

I've sold some stuff on craigslist with good results (two motorcycles and a freezer) also bought some stuff.

I always do "local only" and "cash only".....everything else is pretty self explanitory. You should also upload some pics....they allow up to four and they automatically scale down (ie pics look kinda crappy).

Ok thanks! I had a feeling cash only but wanted to double check. Did you just communicate via email initially or did you put a # down for contact purposes?

Craigslist is best for local sales. Cash or certified funds only. Local buyers only. Approach it like the flea market swap meet it is and you'll be fine.

Craigslist is useful also for selling extra tickets at the last minute. For example, two tickets to tonight's Cubs game.

Tell me about it. I was searching craigslist around 3 in the morning a while ago and someone had just put up a post for 4 tickets to the sox opener for only 5 bucks. Called him immediatly and picked up the tickets.

Ok so I finally got a hit on Craigslist but I think it's a scam. This is what I got in a second email. My response to him was when it could be picked up and cash only. My only other thought was do paypal? Suggestions?

It smells like a scam to me.

I would insist on local pickup and cash in hand.

Paypal accounts can be hijacked too!!!

Also, be careful about the money as well. There have been several instances in the Chicago area of people paying with bogus bills. Get one of those money pens and pay careful attention to the money. If you suspect anything then, tell them you'd like them to go with you to the bank.

100% scam, I promise you.

I responded with cash only and no response, big surprise.

I had one of these in response to some Cubs tickets, after the game had already ended.

I gave them the name Crane Kenny for the check and the address/phone number of wrigley field to have their movers "pick up the items"
