 1 edit | I'm on Pro, and I found the pricing/overages to be absurd even before this increase.
I have to assume Cogeco really doesn't want to offer this package, but for PR reasons doesn't want to remove it.
These changes also make me even more convinced that the once you hit your max overage, you will be disconnected.
Otherwise, the Standard account becomes even cheaper;
$45.95 =$30 overage = $75.95
$1 cheaper than the BASE Pro price.
If you truly can get to 100gigs or beyond on Standard, then this scheme makes no sense.
I suspect more likely that this increase is done in this way to maximally punish those wanting between 60-100 gigs.
In other words, those who didn't want to pay for Pro, but want a bit more than standard.
I expect hard Standard caps of 75 gigs (60 + $30 of overage at $1.50/gig so 15 gigs) come June 1. |
