Re: TWC Fiber - Any Experience?

I have it at a site in austin and several sites in san antonio. If you are interested in any trace routes or anything like that let me know, as your service would head to one of those cities before heading over to houston.

As for the service it works great and i havent had any real problems. Expect construction to take 90-120 days. Most we have paid for construction is $1000 and the rest they role into the MRC. I always normally start first with the site survery to see what my real cost is going to be, so i would get that done to see where you stand. You could have no upfront cost, or have to pay $20k, it just depends how close your site is to a fiber splice point, if you have existing conduit in the building and your contract term (we normally do 3 or 5 years)

If you have any other questions let me know.

Thanks for the info. The City of Fredericksburg runs on TWC, and I can get a trace etc. from any number of local coffee shops, nearly all of which run off of (shh, residential) TWC. Not terribly enthused about using the same network that powers cable customers around here, but if the prices they're quoting me are legit then there really is no better option.

Is this Time Warner Cable or Time Warner Telecom? The networks are a bit different.

Cable. TWTC apparently gold-plates their networks. At least, that's what they must be doing to justify charging more than InterNAP for bandwidth.
