Can I put a maybe down? And see how the Army game goes before I decide? I wanna see how much time it takes me to partcipate, since I'm doing this mostly at work, I don't want to end up getting too involved and slack off too much

You work for the state, you have plenty of time to slack.

With the budget shortfalls looming, having time to slack may not be a good thing for state workers.

As explained in the letter you received from the Governor on May 13, 2009, all commonwealth employees will continue to work as scheduled, even if a budget is not enacted by June 30, 2009. Employees paid from any funds that are part of the executive budget process will be paid only after a budget is enacted, employees paid through funds not appropriated by the General Assembly will not be affected by a budget impasse.

This letter is to notify you that your position is paid through funds not appropriated by the General Assembly. As a result, you will be paid normally if there is a budget impasse and your benefits will continue during an impasse.

Read about it in the news. It's a tough situation. Hopefully, for stateworkers, the budget is passed in time.

The letter I got, wasn't sent to everybody.

Good for you. At least you don't have to prepare for shortfalls. Lots of other workers will, though. It's unfortunate.

We were preparing, until we got those letters. Fortunately, we both got the letter, so neither one of us are in jeopardy.
