I did find out half-heartily that Broadvox does not peer with Sip broker.  The code does not work to dial via SIP in or out. <br>Anyway, my usage is so low for the domestic calls that I am seriously looking at other providers.  I been looking at Callcentric, FutureNine, VoipMS, and the new one called Sipgate one and a couple others like Contact Tel.   Still undecided. Having E911, low cost of just being a customer(when I don't use the phone for a month here and there), decent rates (and quality) to Australia and Greece would be important to me.  Being a facility based company like Broadvox is would be a plus too.   ]]></description>

We're on the grandfathered $19.95/month for unlimited service which is perfect for us.<br><br>I don't care for the ticket system, but it's not too bad.  Not as good or as responsive as our local phone company, but then our bill with Broadvox is a fraction of what we'd pay to our local phone company.<br><br>The thing that I don't like the most is that I don't get a "warm, fuzzy feeling" from Broadvox.  They stopped marketing their residential service, but I don't know if that means they are happy to keep their existing customers or if they're anxiously waiting for us to leave.  It also means that there is zero communication from the company: no sort of "here's what we have planned in the future" or even, "thanks for being a customer".  If I didn't have a dial tone I would think they were no longer on the face of the earth.<br><br>But that's the catch: invariably I have a dial tone when I want/need it.  Most days I don't think about them because the phone just works.  If it ever happens that their service becomes unreliable (or they kick me off) then I'll look elsewhere, but for now Broadvox still manages to do what I need it to do, at a price that I like.]]></description>

My call quality has been perfect unless they are having issues. Can't recall the last issue.<br>Callcentric is another pay as you go.<br>If you need to port your # then also look elsewhere.<br>I'm not really the expert.]]></description>

Among other things Broadvox is a facility based company they are in charge of there own equipment and network so when something goes down there is no third party involved.  And the Price is $12.95 for the 500min plan which I am grandfathered in and that is what I pay a month. <br>Now my use is not a lot on the local/national  but to two international countries which are pretty good rates for being a USA provider and on a minute basis those account for more time than local. <br>I don't know who else is a facility based company that won't charge extra in tax or 911 fees etc. <br>My employment scene is right now I am unemployed and I have to carefully spend my money right now. <br> ]]></description>

They found that their survival niche was in business accounts instead of the residential market. I'm kind of surprised that they were able to keep supporting their residential customers this long.<br><br>If I remember correctly, it was the amount of tech time/customer that made them quit the residential market.<br>If a tech can troubleshoot one business account that has 100 lines in 2 hours, but only troubleshoot 6 residential customers and 3 of those wouldn't give up their $3 bud can phones  :p moving away from the residential market was probably the prudent thing to do.  Also, residential broadband wasn't what it is today.<br><br>There are some quality lower priced full feature providers hanging out around here now.<br>Enjoy!]]></description>

I do have it working on the free account of Callcentric but incoming calls from my Gizmo5 account just get a message my line in is busy which is not the case.  I can make outgoing SIP calls to Gizmo5 account but not to Broadvox.  The SIP code for Broadvox listed in sip broker is not correct. <br>Anyway I remember the big debate on the SPA 2000 not making the calls encrypted and that was one reason why Broadvox went with the Mediatrix ata.   <br>I not sure I want to use the SPA 2000 for that reason.  <br>If I am wrong please correct me. ]]></description>

And the two countries I would call because of relatives are two cents more than Broadvox. <br>Are you using the SPA2000?  I still have mine too.  I told them I wanted to keep it as a back up. Like is the SPA2000 strictly a two line device where you can't call out say you had two providers and you wanted to call out only on line two. ]]></description>

They just not being answered. Someone Bpam has looked at them but that is it.<br>Over all the service been good and I am grandfathered in the 12.95 plan but I been thinking of a Pay as you go plan from the other providers since my usage is so low.    Anyone still on Broadvox or formally from Broadvox how did you handle terminating the service?  Did you send the adapter back since they own it?  How does it work if you port your number away? ]]></description>
