| Verizons arrogance rant
Oh Verizon how ignorant and arrogant you sound. Don't leap before you think. OMG you drove 250k miles and saw better throughput. Better by whos standards? Are there millions of users on this vaporware lte network of yours? No, just you. You've got lots of ground to cover converting an entire national network, while hspa will already be ahead of your game, at '3g' even. How real-world is your test? You'll restrict and cap it to hell just like every other product you offer (save for FiOS [but soon to be]).
/rant -- If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Unless you know what you're doing. |

1. VZW wireless is capped...just like EVERY wireless carrier 2. LTE is completely separate from HSPA and GSM. Like it was mentioned before, it is a new buildout from ground zero. There is no "upgrade path" to LTE. 3. I might be on AT&T but honestly, just compare coverage areas for AT&T and Verizon (3g and evdo) its a no brainer VZW has better coverage. That and 3G sucks in some cities (like austin).
oh, and FIOS is owned by Verizon not Verizon Wireless. -- One never notices what has been done; one can only see what remains to be done. -Marie Curie |

| Verizon and Verizon wireless are all part of the same parent company, just different management and oversight. I don't care about Verizon's amazing coverage, there current system is one of the slowest (just look at data stats). They LOCK every single phone of their lineup from doing any bluetooth file transferring, or bluetooth tethering, or even wifi sharing. They block many websites on their evdo network because its not "checking email" or part of their approved intranet. They are in a bubble of their own as I say. No other provider does such a thing.
I've gone up and down the entire east coast several times for all of which both my Sprint phone and at&t phone provided excellent coverage. While I agree that att's 3g is lacking, most of where I go always has it and if they don't, they are slowly but surely deploying to.
I also never said there was an direct upgrade path to LTE - what I argue is the fact that att's 3g (hsdpa w-cdma) makes them ahead of the game because of its ability for further upgrades well into 20mbps. That alone leaves Verizon in the dust seeing as they would have to upgrade their entire infrastructure for 4g to even compete. Their EvDo rev. a simply will not go further than what it is. -- If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Unless you know what you're doing. |

| My LG Dare tethers and file swaps via Bluetooth. I never hook up a USB cable to get pictures off of it. I even have a stereo Bluetooth headset for it. Actually it is one of the lessor locked up phones I have had in years. As far as internet goes I can go to any URL I please on the Dare and it isn't even a smart phone as long as I don't run out of memory and it takes a pretty stout web page to do that. |

Like it was mentioned before, it is a new buildout from ground zero. There is no "upgrade path" to LTE. I think these people would disagree, Verizon needs to change to a MAP core, from an Ansi core. Therefore they are moving to 3gpp, which is the gsm upgrade path.

3GPP should not be confused with 3rd Generation Partnership Project 2 (3GPP2), which specifies standards for another 3G technology based on IS-95 (CDMA), commonly known as CDMA2000. -- They Live... We Sleep...
