Re: contact lenses UK an opticians
although there's no such thing as "cheap" in the UK. You'll pay double the price of anywhere else for the cheapest here. --

You'll pay double the price of anywhere else for the cheapest here. hmm - Contact Lens sales are since June 2005, like spectacles, deregulated here so one can buy them online/by mail after initially being tested/fitted by an optician »www.opticianonline.net/Articles/···ware.htm
{iirc in 2005 online sales already represented about 5% of the UK Contact Lens market (lenses are proportionally less common wrt spectacles here than in the US)}
i'd be surprised if there's much difference in the cheapest available price for distance sales worldwide in those countries where it's a deregulated market since they are so small (meaning shipping costs are tiny) and entirely uniform the world over....
{what you pay in an opticians offering a full service is a different thing however... threads like this suggest that the prices US opticians get away with charging are exhorbitant by UK standards } »My Eye Doctor...GRRRRR
Tesco began selling them in 2005 »www.tescoopticians.com/
as do ASDA »www.asda-contactlenses.co.uk/
and probably other supermarkets also... |

like i said - opticians, that's where you'll start and probably end up buying from.
and again you wont find them cheaper in the UK
That was a whole lot of post just to confirm what I said in a single line.....
